Heyo! I'm DaCubeKing.

That's my pen name, irl people know me as Adalie.

I'm a 20-year-old college student from California who loves programming and tinkering with computers. I love tinkering with and exploring the things that make me curious—it's what led to this website and many of my other projects.

I'm majoring in Computer Science with a Math minor, but outside of coding, I also dabble in video production, photography, and editing.

In high school, I was the programming lead for the First Robotics Competition Team, where I earned several programming awards and competition wins. I also spent a good amount of time making YouTube videos, mainly focused on Minecraft, which became a fun outlet for my more creative and artistic side.

When I'm not working or coding, you might find me watching a rom-com, listening to a lecture on a niche topic, or reading a novel. Take a look at my reading list here to see what I've recently read.

If I'm not doing the above, you'll likely find me playing video games. I recently finished playing through Alan Wake 2 and am now working my way through Celeste. I also continue to enjoy playing Minecraft and Valorant.

  • Making Little Handwritten Notes on My Website!

I wanted try adding some handwritten-like margin notes to my website. Creating a few of these probably wouldn't have been that hard. A little bit of html and css with some svg images I created beforehand would do. But since I like programming and don't really want to write a bunch of css and html I created a system that turns the following markdown ish syntax into a note on my website.
  • Using Cloudflare Tunnels to Proxy Minecraft Server Traffic (For Free!)

For a while now I've been hosting my own Minecraft server at home. Compared to using another free service (for instance, Hypixel or Aternos) my server (even running on one of my old laptops) has much better performance.

  • The Automation Timesink

When I first saw this comic, I don't think there was anything that related to me more as a programmer. My reality is almost exactly like the reality portion of the XKCD. I start writing code; it doesn't work. I debug; I realize could do this in a better way AND fix this bug if I rewrote this. Put all that in a `while (true)` loop and you've got me.
  • My Programming Projects

As a 20 year old, I’ve been programming for over a decade (yes half my life!). It started with little projects and games I made on Scratch, but has slowly evolved into larger and more complex projects, some of which are listed below:
